Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

The MSA Conference Committee requests that all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, guests, and conference staff adhere to the following Code of Conduct, which applies throughout the entire duration of the conference. We expect everyone's cooperation to create a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all participants. We aim to provide an environment free of harassment for all participants, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, body size, ethnicity, national origin, or religious affiliation (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate any form of harassment. Inappropriate or sexualized language and imagery are not welcome at the conference, including in talks, workshops, social gatherings, and social media. Participants who violate these rules may face sanctions, including expulsion from the conference, at the discretion of the MSA Conference Committee. If you experience or witness harassment, we encourage you to promptly contact conference staff. They can be identified by their conference badges or reached via the central conference email. The conference team is committed to assisting and supporting you to ensure a safe and pleasant conference experience. We greatly value your participation!

Our Contribution to Sustainability

As an organization committed to community well-being and global responsibility, MSA recognizes the importance of contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Therefore, the 2025 MSA Conference will aim to minimize printed materials and will instead provide a mobile version of the program to help participants navigate and connect before and during the event.

Photography and Video Recordings

Please note that official photos, screenshots, and other recordings may be taken during the conference by or on behalf of the MSA Conference Committee. These materials may be used for informational and promotional purposes (both online and offline) and shared within MSA networks. They will not be used for commercial purposes. If you do not wish to appear in any photos or recordings, you may object by sending an email to pragueconference@memorystudiesassociation.org no later than June 16, 2025.

Disclaimer

Please be aware that participation in the conference is at your own risk. The MSA Conference Committee and its event partners accept no liability for any losses, accidents, or damages to persons or property that may occur during travel or during the event itself.

Data Protection Notice

We will collect, store, and process personal data provided during registration solely for the purpose of the conference. The following data will be displayed in the mobile conference program and be visible to the website users: first name, last name, country, and home institution. Your data will not be shared with third parties.
You may object to the storage and use of your data at any time by emailing pragueconference@memorystudiesassociation.org.

Parts of this Code of Conduct are based on the model Anti-Harassment Policy from the Geek Feminism Wiki, created by the Ada Initiative and other volunteers under a Creative Commons Zero license. Editorial changes have been made to better suit the values and nature of the 2025 MSA Conference in Prague.
