Getting to Prague

By air

Letiště Václava Havla Praha (Václav Havel Airport) is Prague's international airport. While it has no metro or train connections to the city center, it is served by buses and taxis. The following bus routes connect the airport to the main metro stations 

  • City Bus 119: To the Nádraží Veleslavín metro station (Green Line - A), in Prague 6, where you can transfer to other metro lines using the same ticket to continue to your destination.
  • City Bus 100: To Zličín metro station (Yellow line - B), in Prague 5.
  • Airport Express: To Prague Main station (Praha Hlavní Nádraží) (Red line - C), Prague 2.

By bus

Most international buses arrive at Florenc bus station, which is easily accessible via metro. However, there are other bus terminals which also can host international connections, namely Praha Hlavní Nádraží.

By rail

While traveling within the Czech Republic, express trains (rychlík) are the fastest option between cities, while local trains (osobní vlaky) are more affordable, but stop more frequently. Prague is directly connected by train to over 20 European cities, including:

  • Munich: 5 hours
  • Vienna: 4 hours 30 minutes
  • Berlin: 5 hours 30 minutes
  • Paris: 10 hours

The main train stations in Prague are the the Praha Hlavni Nadrazi, Masarykovo Nádraží, Smichov Nádraží and Holesovice Nádraží.

Prague is well connected to European highways, making it an easy drive from cities such as:

Nuremberg: 3 hours

Berlin, Munich and Vienna: 4 hours

Budapest: 5 hours
