Conference Venues

The main program of the MSA Prague 2025 conference will take place across three primary locations in central Prague: 

  • Faculty of Arts, Charles University (FF)
  • Czech Academy of Sciences (AV), and 
  • Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University (H or Hollar building)

 

In addition to these core venues, the side events and exhibitions will be held at other nearby locations.

All buildings will be clearly marked with signage and directions to help participants easily find their way to the correct rooms and sessions.


Faculty of Arts, Charles University / Filozofická fakulta Univerzity Karlovy (FF)

Address: náměstí Jana Palacha 2, Prague 1

Description: The main venue of the conference, housed in a historic university building opposite the Rudolfinum concert hall and near the Vltava river.

Facilities: Large lecture halls, smaller seminar rooms, elevators, café, and information desk.

Metro: Green Line (A) - stop at Malostranská or Můstek

Tram: Lines 17 and 18 - stop at Staroměstská 

Bus:  Lines 194 and 207 - stop at  Staroměstská 


Czech Academy of Sciences / Akademie věd České Republiky (AV)


Address: Národní 3, Prague 1

Description: A prestigious academic institution offering modern facilities, ideal for thematic panels and workshops.


How to get there?

Metro: Yellow line (B) – stop at Národní třída / Green Line (A) – stop at Můstek

Tram:  Lines 6, 9 and 22 – stop at Národní divadlo / Lines 17 and 18 – stop at Národní divadlo (closer to Hollar building) or Karlovy Lázně

Description: A riverside faculty building with views of Prague Castle, offering mid-sized rooms and a relaxed academic setting.

Important Travel Information – Metro Line A, Staroměstská metro station 

Please note that the Staroměstská metro station on Line A is currently closed due to technical issues.
The closure began on Sunday, 6 July 2025 at 04:30 and is in effect until further notice.

  • Trains do not stop at Staroměstská station – they only pass through.
  • Metro Line A remains fully operational – trains run according to the regular timetable.
  • To reach the Staroměstská area, we recommend using tram lines 2 and 18 from Malostranská station.

Nearest alternative metro stations:

  • Malostranská (Line A) – approx. 8 minutes' walk

  • Můstek (Lines A & B) – approx. 10 minutes' walk

  • Národní třída (Line B) – approx. 12 minutes' walk
