Astrid Erll

Astrid Erll is a distinguished scholar in the field of literary and cultural studies, known for her pioneering work on memory studies, cultural memory, and the intersections between literature, history, and identity. She is a Professor of Anglophone Literatures and Cultures, Co-leader of the Frankfurt Memory Studies Platform (FMSP) and expert on transcultural, narrative, and mediated memories. Erll's influential books, such as Memory in Culture, have contributed significantly to the development of memory studies as an academic discipline. Her interdisciplinary approach examines the role of literature, media, and culture in the construction of shared memories and identities across time.



Georgi Gospodinov


Georgi Gospodinov is a renowned Bulgarian writer, poet, and essayist, celebrated for his innovative contributions to contemporary literature. His works, including The Physics of Sorrow and Natural Novel, have earned critical acclaim for their profound exploration of memory, identity, and the complexities of human experience. Gospodinov's unique narrative style blends elements of fiction, philosophy, and history, offering readers a deeply reflective and engaging experience. Translated into more than 25 languages, he has gained international recognition and has received prestigious literary awards. 

In 2023, his novel Time Shelter was awarded the International Booker Prize, cementing his status as one of the most significant voices in contemporary literature.
